
Chiefs Fall In Shootout to Reading; Forced to Play Monday Night in Play-in Game

Reading, PA- The Johnstown Chiefs squandered a two goal lead and lost in a shoot out, 3-2 to the Reading Royals, Friday night at the Sovereign Center.
The Chiefs led 2-0 after the second period with goals by Mike James and Dominic Forget. Reading came back with goals by Dave Stewart and Lars Pettersen in the final 12:00. Brad Church scored the only goal in the shoot out for Reading.
According to Royals statisticians, Chiefs goaltender David Currie made 67 saves in the contest. Reading goaltender Cody Rudkowsky made 28 saves.
The Chiefs are now 44-20-7 (95 points) on the season. Reading improves to 36-25-10.
The Chiefs wrap-up the 2003-04 regular season Saturday night when they visit the Trenton Titans at 7:00 p.m. Despite setting franchise record for wins and points in a season, the Chiefs will host either Reading or Trenton Monday night at the War Memorial in #4 vs. #5 Northern division play-in game. If Reading wins Saturday night vs. Toledo, they will move on to face the Chiefs. The Royals lead the Trenton Titans by one point.
