PrairieThunder Defeat RiverKings Again in Overtime 4-3

Back on January 29th in Southaven, Mississippi, the Bloomington PrairieThunder defeated the Mississippi RiverKings 4-3 in overtime. On Friday night at the U.S. Cellular Coliseum, the PrairieThunder did it again, coming back from a 3-2 deficit to defeat the RiverKings again by a 4-3 margin, again in overtime. For Bloomington it was their fifth overtime victory of the season and Coach Jason Christie's lads are a perfect 5-0 in overtime this year.

Bloomington took 1-0 and 2-1 leads in the first period on goals from Jason Dale and Travis Granbois. However, the RiverKings would lead 3-2 after two periods and that lead would hold until 14:01 of the third period when John Snowden tied the game for the PrairieThunder. And in the overtime period, team captain Jason Deleurme scored the game winner at 3:35 with assists from Alan Mazur and newcomer Keith Rodger. Bloomington dominated play for most of the game, outshooting the RiverKings 43-19. With the victory, the PrairieThunder improve to 25-16-2. Goaltender Marco Emond earned his 20th victory of the season on Friday night. Mississippi falls to 22-22-3.

The PrairieThunder heads to Wichita, Kansas on Saturday night to face the Wichita Thunder. Game time is 7:05pm and the game can be heard on WEZC-FM (95.9) or at WJBC.com. Fans are also invited to watch the game at BlueLine Nightclub, located at 602 N. Main Street in downtown Bloomington.
