Friday ‚¬â„¢s opponent has had success this season versus the Komets winning five of the seven head-to-head match-ups thus far. The Mallards enter play with points in four of their last five games going 3-1-1 over that stretch. Mallards defenseman Tyler Kindle leads all skaters with 14 points (2-12=14) and a +7 plus/minus rating in the season series. The Mallards are in third place in the Turner Conference with 51 poi nts and the Komets are in eighth place with 43 points. The rest of the weekend for the Flock looks like at Evansville on Saturday and at Dayton on Sunday. For the Komets, they travel to Dayton on Saturday and return home to play Evansville on Sunday.

Eagles and Mavs Get Reacquainted

The Colorado Eagles and Missouri Mavericks will get to know each other well this weekend when they play three straight games, Friday in Missouri and Saturday/Sunday in Colorado. The teams have met four times this season with each team winning twice although the Eagles own a two-game win streak in the series. Colorado had their seven-game win streak snapped on Tuesday night in Quad City (4-1) but still sit tied for first place in the Turner Conference. The Mavs are coming off a 1-0 win at Mississippi on Tuesday night and now find themselves in sixth place in the conference but they are just three points out of third place. Robby Nolan made 25 saves in Tuesday ‚¬â„¢s shutout win tying him for the league lead with three shutouts on the season. Colorado goaltender Kyle Jones had his personal win streak snapped as well on Tuesday in Quad City but his 20 wins are tied for the most in the league.

Thursday ‚¬â„¢s Rewind

The Odessa Jackalopes ended their six-game losing streak with a 4-3 shootout win over the Laredo Bucks in the Bucks annual Kid ‚¬â„¢s Day game (11AM start time). Kenny Corupe, Mike Lesperance and Mark Ehl all scored goals in regulation for the Jacks and Matt Gens scored the game winner in the shootout, his first goal with Odessa. Jeff Bes scored twice for the Bucks who drop their third straight home game (0-1-2) and Daniel Koger had three assists.

Numbers Game

12- The number of goals points that Colorado forward Adam Chorneyko has scored since the all-star break totaling seven goals with five assists. Chorneyko is also a +9 over those 10 games and in comparison scored just one goal in the 11 games he played during the first half of the season.

3-0- The record of the road team in the Allen/Odessa series this season. The two teams meet twice this weekend (Friday/Saturday) with both games taking place at the Allen Event Center. Odessa ‚¬â„¢s Mike Ramsay leads all skaters scoring three times in the season series. Allen is in first place in the Berry Conference, while the Jacks have fallen on hard times just snapping their six-game slide on Thursday in Laredo.

1300- The number of pro games that Mississippi ‚¬â„¢s Jeff Christian will have played in when he takes the ice on Friday night in Bloomington. The veteran has played in 18 NHL games during his career. Christian is just four points from becoming the 23rd player to reach 500 CHL points.

1- The number of CHL teams that are unbeaten in shootouts this season after the Laredo Bucks fell to Odessa in a shootout on Thursday. With that loss, the Bucks fall from the ranks of the unbeaten leaving just the Tulsa Oilers as a perfect bunch in shootouts with a 3-0 record. Only the Texas Brahmas are without a single win in shootouts losing all three efforts so far.

+26- The goal differential the Allen Americans have this season in the third period leading all CHL teams and reigning as the best closers in the league. The Texas Brahmas are second with a +19 mark. The Evansville IceMen struggle more than any other club in the final period getting outscored by 22 goals.
