Bossier-Shreveport Mudbugs News Release
BOSSIER CITY, LA - Staff members from the Bossier-Shreveport Mudbugs are about to plunge headlong into a fund raising effort for Special Olympics Louisiana... literally! Mudbugs ¬â¢ staff members will be taking part in tomorrow ¬â¢s 3rd annual "Polar Plunge" by jumping into the chilly waters of Cross Lake to support their "Freezin ¬â¢ for a Reason" fundraising efforts.
Click here to get involved and help the Mudbugs raise money to benefit Special Olympics Louisiana, and don ¬â¢t miss out on the festivities at 11:00 am tomorrow at American Legion Post #14 (5315 South Lakeshore Drive in Shreveport). Join team owner Tommy Scott, General Manager and former player Jason "Soupy" Campbell and many other members of the Mudbugs ¬â¢ staff by getting involved in the "Polar Plunge" and donating to Special Olympics Louisiana.
"We really want to spread the word to our fans and rally their support for a great local cause", Campbell said. "This event is a fun way to get people ¬â¢s attention and hopefully encourage them to donate to the amazing programs offered by Special Olympics. I probably won ¬â¢t be able to feel my toes again until about next Tuesday, but it will all be worth while if we can help raise some money."
Special Olympics Louisiana helps over 13,000 disabled Louisianans participate in Olympic-type sports training and athletic competitions throughout the year. These programs allow children and adults with intellectual disabilities to develop physical fitness, demonstrate courage, and participate in a sharing of gifts, skills and friendship with their families, other Special Olympics athletes and the community.
