
'Pigs Split out of Buffalo

Lehigh Valley IronPigs News Release
(Buffalo, NY) - The Lehigh Valley IronPigs (64-53) defeated the Buffalo Bisons (62-54) 5-3 on Sunday afternoon.
Bubby Rossman got the start for Lehigh Valley in a spot start. He allowed a run to Buffalo in the bottom of the first inning as Otto Lopez scored on a fielding error by Chris Sharpe. The IronPigs tied the game at 1-1 in the top of the third inning as Dalton Guthrie hit an RBI single against Thomas Hatch (7-6) that scored Daniel Robertson.
The Bisons scored another run against Rossman in the bottom of the third inning to take a 2-1 lead. Rafael Lantigua scored on a groundout by LJ Talley. Lehigh Valley answered with three runs against Hatch in the top of the fourth inning to take a 4-2 lead. Rafael Marchan hit a sacrifice fly that scored Dustin Peterson and Josh Ockimey hit a two-run home run. The home run was his seventh of the season.
Buffalo trimmed Lehigh Valley's lead to 4-3 against Zach Warren (1-0) in the bottom of the fourth inning. Lopez scored on a groundout by Nathan Lukes. Guthrie struck again for the 'Pigs in the top of the ninth inning against Matt Gage as he hit an RBI single to give Lehigh Valley a 5-3 lead.
Francisco Morales and Michael Kelly each pitched two scoreless innings, and each struck out three batters. Nick Duron struck out the side in the bottom of the eighth inning, while Jakob Hernandez earned his fifth save of the season by pitching a scoreless bottom of the ninth inning.
The IronPigs begin a six-game homestand on Tuesday evening against the Gwinnett Stripers. First pitch is scheduled for 7:05 p.m.
