LOUISVILLE, KY - Ronnie Dawson launched two home runs with Cristian Santana tallying a grand slam to power the Louisville Bats (49-68) over the Omaha Storm Chasers (55-61) 7-6 at Louisville Slugger Field on Sunday afternoon.

Louisville scored the first run of the game in the home half of the second. With one out in the inning, Ronnie Dawson stepped to the plate and launched a solo home run to right field to put the Bats ahead 1-0. The homer was Dawson's team-leading tenth of the season.
The Storm Chasers answered with a solo shot of their in the next half inning to tie the game 1-1 before putting up three more runs in the fourth to take a 4-1 lead.
In the bottom of the fifth, Chuckie Robinson, Leonardo Rivas and Spencer Steer hit back-to-back singles to load the bases with no outs. As more rain started to fall, Cristian Santana belted a grand slam, his fourth long ball of the series, to unload the bases and put the Bats back in front 5-4.
After a second hour-long rain delay, Louisville continued its big inning, scoring two more runs on a two-run homer to center field off the bat of Dawson, his second bomb of the day to extend the Bats lead to 7-4.
Omaha answered once again in the following half inning, scoring two runs on an RBI double to cut the Louisville lead to one at 7-6 through six innings.
Fernando Cruz entered the game with two outs in the eighth inning and worked the final 1.1 innings, striking out two, to earn his league-leading 22nd save of the season.
Up next, the Louisville Bats will enjoy a day-off before hitting the road on Tuesday, August 23 for a six-game series with the Toledo Mud Hens.
