
Peoria's Michaud Named ECHL Goalie of the Week

PRINCETON, N.J. - Peoria's Alfie Michaud is the East Coast Hockey League Goalie of the Week for January 27-February 2.
The 26-year-old Michaud was 3-0 with a 1.33 goals against average and a .959 save percentage while starting three of Peoria's four games last week.
Michaud made 34 saves in a 6-2 win over Lexington on Tuesday and had 36 saves in a 2-1 win over Northwest Division leader Toledo on Friday. He closed out the week making 24 saves in a 3-1 win over Cincinnati.
He is 4-0 with a 1.49 goals against average in his last four starts and 8-0-1 with a shutout and a 1.76 goals against average in his last nine starts for Peoria.
In his fourth professional season, Michaud is 11-1-2 with a 1.98 goals against average and a .935 save percentage in 14 games for the Rivermen. Michaud would lead the ECHL in goals against average, but he has played only 848 minutes, 82 minutes shy of the required minimum of 930 minutes. Michaud ranks second in the ECHL in save percentage.
