UPCOMING WEEK: The Greensboro Generals only have two games this week as they continue a five game road trip. The Generals visit the Richmond Renegades for the final time this season for a 7:35 contest on Friday night. Greensboro has not lost to the Renegades in regulation this year, posting a 4-0-2 record. On Saturday at 7:35, the Generals travel to Greenville to battle the defending Kelly Cup Champion Grrrowl. The Generals next home game isn't until Thursday, February 13 at 7:00 against the Renegades. LAST WEEK: 1/29 SOUTH CAROLINA 3, GREENSBORO 4 (OT) ¨ The Generals came back from a 3-1 deficit to earn their first overtime victory of the season. Spotting the Stingrays a 1-0 advantage, Shane Campbell tied the game in the first period for Greensboro. South Carolina would score once more in the first period and add another in the second for a two-goal advantage, but Sam Ftorek quickly cut the Generals deficit in half at 3-2. Matt Turek tied the game at 3-3 early in the third period, then he set up the game-winning goal by Pete Gardiner just 54 seconds into overtime.

1/30 ROANOKE 2, GREENSBORO 1 ¨ Despite a strong defensive effort from the Generals, they couldn't muster enough offense to extend their five game winning streak. Chris Bell scored the Generals only goal of the evening midway through the second period to tie the game at 1-1, but the Express would score 26 seconds later for the eventual game-winning tally.

2/1 GREENSBORO 2, ATLANTIC CITY 5 ¨ The Generals lost out on an opportunity to pull into another first place tie by falling at Boardwalk Hall. Rod Aldoff and Pete Gardiner scored the Generals goals.

2/2 GREENSBORO 3, JOHNSTOWN 4 (SO) ¨ The Generals couldn't hang on to a 3-0 third period lead, and eventually settled for a tie by dropping a six-round shootout. Ole Kjenstad, Rod Aldoff, and Chris Bell scored the Greensboro goals.

1/28 Goaltender Sebastien Centomo was reassigned to the Generals by the St. John's Maple Leafs (AHL).

1/31 Placed center Mark Turner on the 7-day injured list.

1/31 Signed center Derek Crimin.

NOTABLES:

¨ Saturday's loss at Atlantic City snapped the Generals seven game road winning streak and eleven game unbeaten streak (9-0-2). The last time Greensboro had lost in regulation on the road was a 6-4 loss at Roanoke on November 8.

¨ David Whitworth's assist on Chris Bell's goal on Thursday was his 86th in a Greensboro uniform, making him the franchise's all-time assist leader.

¨ Greensboro pulled into a tie for first place with Wednesday's victory. It was the first time they had a share of the lead since the second day of the regular season, when the Generals were 2-0-0 on October 12.

¨ The Generals won their first overtime game of the season in Wednesday's game. They are now 1-4 in overtime games. Conversely, the Generals also lost their first shootout game of the year on Sunday. They are now 5-1 in shootouts.

¨ Greensboro was held below two goals for only the third time all season last Thursday. They have still not been shut out.

¨ The Generals are second in the league with a 85.8% penalty killing percentage.

¨ Greensboro only has nine home games left for the remainder of the season.

¨ Greensboro has a current league high four game winning streak.

¨ The Generals are currently on a three game winless streak (0-2-1), their longest since October 16 – 19.
