Penguins sign Jason Deitsch to PTO

WILKES-BARRE, PA - The Wilkes-Barre/Scranton Penguins have signed forward Jason Deitsch to a professional tryout contract, it was announced on Wednesday.

The 26-year old Deitsch joins the Penguins from the Cincinnati Cyclones of the ECHL, where he ranked first on the team in assists (34), second in points (57) and third in goals (23). He ranks tied for 20th in the league in points and 21st in the league in goals as of Wednesday.

The Cincinnati native began his professional career with Kalamazoo (UHL), leading the team and all league rookies with 87 points (38+49) in 72 games.

Deitsch is the all-time leading scorer at St. Norbert College, recording 184 points (64+120) in 122 games between 2001 and 2005.
