Iowa's speedy forward rejoins Dallas

DES MOINES, IA - Iowa Stars Director of Hockey Operations Scott White announced early this morning that the Dallas Stars have recalled Forward Chris Conner from their American Hockey League team in Des Moines, Iowa. White also confirmed that Dallas has also reassigned Defenseman Matt Nickerson to the organization's ECHL affiliate, the Idaho Steelheads.

A native of Ypsilanti, Michigan, Conner is currently the Iowa Stars sixth-leading scorer, recording 15 goals and 28 overall points in 39 games: 39(15/13/28). Since returning from injury in mid-February, he has notched six goals and two assists in his last eight games.

This recall is his third recall to the NHL this season. He made his NHL debut with the Dallas Stars on December 8th against the Edmonton Oilers. The 23-year-old recorded his first NHL point, a goal, against Jose Theordore on December 27th, 2006 at the Colorado Avalanche. In all, he has skated in eight NHL games, registering one goal, one assist and two penalty minutes: 8(1/1/2)2.

Conner is expected to join the Dallas Stars in time for their game on Thursday in St. Louis.

The 22-year-old Nickerson has skated in 40 games for Iowa this season, posting three assists and 97 penalty minutes: 40(0/3/3)97. He is second behind Krys Barch for the most penalty minute on the team. He has also played in five games with Idaho this season, registering 23 PIM's.
