March to the Calder Cup Playoffs on Comcast Local

GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. - As the Grand Rapids Griffins march toward the 2007 Calder Cup Playoffs, fans throughout Michigan will come along for the ride courtesy of Comcast Local, which will televise at least four games over the remainder of the American Hockey League's regular season.

The package begins on March 17 with a potential playoff preview against the Manitoba Moose and includes another installment of the feud between the Griffins and Chicago Wolves on March 31. The complete schedule is as follows (subject to change):

Sat., March 17 Manitoba Moose at GRIFFINS 7 p.m.

Fri., March 30 GRIFFINS at Hamilton Bulldogs 7:30 p.m.

Sat., March 31 Chicago Wolves at GRIFFINS 7 p.m.

Wed., April 4 GRIFFINS at Syracuse Crunch 7 p.m.

Telecasts of Calder Cup Playoff games are also a possibility.

The Griffins and Comcast Local will produce the games on March 17, 30 and 31, with Bob Kaser providing the play-by-play. For the April 4 game, Comcast Local will air a feed from Time Warner Sports.

Comcast Local is a Midwest sports network providing sports programming and community-oriented events in Michigan and Indiana. The channel is seen by over 1.6 million Comcast customers in communities including Grand Rapids, Detroit, Flint, Ann Arbor, Muskegon, Lansing, Indianapolis, Fort Wayne and Muncie.
