Iowa signs forward to PTO

DES MOINES, IA - Iowa Stars Director of Hockey Operations Scott White announced late this afternoon that the Iowa Stars have signed Forward Kelly Czuy (chew-EE) to an American Hockey League Professional Tryout Contract (PTO). He will wear number 44 during Iowa's road trip.

A native of Edmonton, Alberta, Canada, Czuy joins the Iowa Stars from the Las Vegas Wranglers of the ECHL. In his first full professional season, the 6-1, 205-pound Forward has appeared in 38 games for Las Vegas, registering 11 goals, 4 assists and 76 penalty minutes: 38(11/4/15)76.

Prior to turning pro, he skated four seasons at the University of Alaska-Fairbanks in the CCHA. He had 39 goals, 45 assists and 269 penalty minutes in 114 games: 144(39/45/84)269. At the end of his collegiate career last season, he did play in three games for the Manitoba Moose, but did not register a point.

He will join the Stars in Omaha, just 135 miles into their 4,300 mile six-game road trip.
