Penguins Assign McNeill to Wilkes-Barre/Scranton

WILKES-BARRE, Pa. - It was announced today that the Pittsburgh Penguins have assigned defenseman Reid McNeill to Wilkes-Barre/Scranton from the Wheeling Nailers (ECHL).

McNeil has recorded two goals, four assists and 90 penalty minutes in 44 games for the Nailers this year. The 20-yeard old rookie made his AHL debut with the Penguins on Feb. 24 at Bridgeport.

Originally from London, Ontario, McNeill split three seasons in the Ontario Hockey League (2009-12) with the London Knights and Barrie Colts, totaling 23 points (7G-16A) and 162 PIM in 166 contests.

McNeill was a sixth-round selection (#170) of Pittsburgh in the 2010 NHL Entry Draft.

The Wilkes-Barre/Scranton Penguins battle the Binghamton Senators tonight at 7:05pm.
