Wilkes-Barre/Scranton Penguins News Release
WILKES-BARRE, Pa. - The Wilkes-Barre/Scranton Penguins announced today that they have released goaltender Scott Darling from his professional tryout agreement (PTO).
Signed to a PTO by the Penguins on March 27, Darling did not make an appearance with Wilkes-Barre/Scranton. The 24-year old has gone 13-12-3 with the Wheeling Nailers over 31 games this season and posted one shutout, a 2.80 goals against average and a .906 save percentage. The third-year pro made his American Hockey League debut earlier this year, inking a PTO with Hamilton on Nov. 14 and skating in one game for the Bulldogs.
A sixth-round pick (#153rd overall) of the Phoenix Coyotes in the 2007 NHL Entry Draft, Darling played collegiate hockey with the University of Maine from 2008-10.
The Wilkes-Barre/Scranton Penguins battle the Binghamton Senators tonight at 7:05pm.
Individual seats for all Penguins home games are available at the Mohegan Sun Arena box office, online at www.ticketmaster.com, and by calling 800-745-3000.
Wilkes-Barre/Scranton season ticket packages, including Full Season, 22-game, 12-game and Flexbook plans, are available by contacting the Penguins directly at 570-208-7367.
