Showdown with OKC Tonight
March 30, 2013 - American Hockey League (AHL)
Rockford IceHogs News Release
Rockford, Ill. - A pair of Western Conference squads looking from the outside of the playoff picture square off at the BMO Harris Bank Center tonight as the Rockford IceHogs (34-29-2-1) host the Oklahoma City Barons (31-23-2-8).
Game time is set for 7:05 p.m. as the first 1,500 fans to the tilt will receive an IceHogs gym bag courtesy of Peak Fitness. The Hogs have also teamed up with Easter Seals Chicago to recognize Autism Awareness by providing information throughout the night.
To purchase tickets to tonight's matchup, call (815) 968-5222, visit IceHogs.com, any Ticketmaster outlet or by visiting the BMO Harris Bank Center box office. This evening's contest can also be viewed on 23.2 Antenna TV, Comcast Cable channel-436, Charter-970, Mediacom-101 or online through AHLlive.com.
Rockford is coming off of a 3-2 loss to the Milwaukee Admirals last night. The Hogs (71 points) sit in a tie for 10th place in the Western Conference playoff race, just two points back of the Admirals and Chicago Wolves, while Oklahoma City sits in ninth place with 72 points.
The IceHogs and Barons previously met in Oklahoma City earlier in the month, where the Hogs managed to dig themselves out of a pair of third-period holes by coming back to defeat the Barons 4-3 in a shootout on March 8 and then 7-4 on March 9.
Rookie defenseman Adam Clendening has notched six points (1g-5a) against the Edmonton Oilers affiliate in three games this season. The blueliner comes into the contest with 38 points (6g-32a); with his 32 assists, Clendening now holds the IceHogs AHL-era record for most assists by a rookie d-man, surpassing Brian Connelly's mark of 31 set during the 2009-10 campaign, and is tied with Matt Gens for most in franchise history. Clendening also ranks fourth in the American Hockey League in points by a d-man.
Next Home Game: Tuesday, April 2 vs. Milwaukee Admirals at 7:05 p.m. for Misery Never Thrilled So Many Fans Night! The IceHogs have teamed up with the RACVB for Misery Night as fans can take advantage of $3 tickets, $3 food deals and $3 merchandise specials. The game is the 10th of 12 on the season between Rockford and Milwaukee and the final showdown between the two at the BMO Harris Bank Center.
