Minnesota Returns Kuemper to Aeros

Houston, TX - Minnesota Wild General Manager Chuck Fletcher announced on Saturday the National Hockey League (NHL) club has reassigned goaltender Darcy Kuemper to the Houston Aeros of the American Hockey League (AHL).

Kuemper, 22 (5/5/90), was recalled Sunday and is 1-2-0 with a 2.22 GAA and a .924 SV% in four games (three starts) with the Wild this season. He made his NHL debut Feb. 12 at Vancouver and won his first NHL game Feb. 17 against Detroit. With Houston this season, Kuemper is 13-7-0 with a 1.78 GAA, a .937 SV% and four shutouts. The 6-foot-5, 207-pound native of Saskatoon, Sask., was the Wild's sixth-round selection (No. 161 overall) in the 2009 NHL Entry Draft.

Houston continues a ten-game home stand at Toyota Center on Tuesday, Mar. 29 at 7:05 p.m. against Grand Rapids. The Aeros remain at Toyota Center on Thursday to host San Antonio at 7:05 p.m. The game marks a "Thirsty Thursday", where fans (21 and older) receive a "second drink free coupon" for The Maple Leaf Pub (Smith and Elgin). The first 500 fans to The Maple Leaf Pub after the game will be able to redeem their coupon for their second drink free. Friday night, the Aeros welcome the Chicago Wolves at 7:05 p.m. The game is presented by Houston Eye Associates. The first 3,500 patrons will be given an Aeros magnetic picture frame, compliments of Houston Eye Associates.
