Moose Jaw, SK - The Moose Jaw Warriors surrendered four power play goals to the Regina Pats in a 4-2 loss on Tuesday night.

The third meeting of the Trans-Canada Clash saw Regina finish 4-for-7 with the man advantage to top the Warriors at the Moose Jaw Events Centre.

"Discipline was a tough issue, we had six penalty kills in a row, so that's not a recipe for success, don't care what league we're talking about, we're going to have to do a better job as a group," Warriors assistant coach Curtis Pereverzoff said.

The Warriors opened the scoring only four minutes into the game when Jagger Firkus scored his sixth of the season.

It was the start to a rivalry game that the Warriors were looking for.

"We had a pretty solid first period and then we came out in the second and we were undisciplined and it hurt us," Warriors defenceman Lucas Brenton said.

"It's a lot of work, a lot of battling, we can't be taking those penalties, especially when you stack a couple in a row like that, it just adds up."

Regina took control in the second, scoring three power play goals in the first 4:26 of the period to move in front 3-1 after two.

The Pats added another power play goal early in the third to take a three-goal advantage.

"We had a couple of moments here and there, but overall, the majority of the game we were chasing, we were getting outcompeted on the walls, losing races back inside and that's the result of it today," Pereverzoff said.

Firkus picked up his second of the night, and 200th point in the Western Hockey League, with just over two minutes to play in the game, but the Warriors couldn't finish off the comeback.

"There's going to be a lot of us that aren't thrilled about the way things went today, we're going to have to learn from those lessons and take it personal and not be just content," Pereverzoff said.

Regina outshot Moose Jaw, 31-29, on the night, while the Warriors finished 1-for-4 on the power play.

The Warriors will get a few days off to regroup before heading to Prince Albert on Saturday night to battle the Raiders at the Art Hauser Centre.
