Edmonton Oil Kings News Release

(Edmonton, AB) - The Edmonton Oil Kings have signed 2007-born forward Jack Toogood to a Western Hockey League Scholarship and Development Agreement, the Club announced today.

Toogood, 16, was originally drafted by the Oil Kings in the 12th round, 263rd overall, of the 2022 WHL Prospects Draft.

"Jack's effort and energy are two things that immediately stand in out in watching him play," said Oil Kings Director of Scouting, Michael Chan. "His commitment to a team-first attitude has helped to accelerate his individual development. His ability to embrace the smaller details of the game makes him a versatile player throughout the lineup, and makes our staff excited to work with him in the future.

"The Oil Kings would also like to thank the Devon Minor Hockey Association and Northern Alberta Xtreme for the roles they have played in Jack's development to this point."

Last season, the Devon, AB product helped the U17 Prep Northern Alberta Xtreme capture the CSSHL Championship after tallying 37 points (16G, 21A) in 30 regular season games and an additional two points (2G, 0A) in five post-season contests.

This season, the 6-foot, 175-pound forward is playing with the U18 Prep Northern Alberta Xtreme and has registered two points (1G, 1A) through two games.

The Edmonton Oil Kings next home game is Sunday, October 22 at 4:00 P.M. when they take on the Seattle Thunderbirds at Rogers Place.

The Oil Kings are Edmonton's first choice for family fun with great seats starting at $20 and season seats for as low as $9 per-game for an entire season of thrilling WHL action!
