
Three Goal Second Frame Lifts Pats to Fourth Straight Win

Moose Jaw, Sask. - A three goal second period lifted the Regina Pats to their fourth straight win, defeating the Moose Jaw Warriors 4-2 at the Moose Jaw Events Centre on Tuesday.
Trailing 1-0 after one, the Pats scored three straight power play goals in the opening five minutes of the second frame to take a 3-1 lead into the final-stanza.
All four of the Pats goals tonight came on the power play. Braxton Whitehead scored twice, Tanner Howe had three points (1G-2A), Parker Berge tallied four assists and Borya Valis finished with two assists. Tye Spencer scored the tying goal in the second while Ewan Huet made 27 saves for his fourth win of the season, as the Pats snapped their mini two game road losing-streak.
The Pats are now 7-3-1 on the season with 15 points. Now first in the Eastern Conference standings.

THE GOALS
First Period
1-0 Warriors at 4:05 - Jagger Firkus (6), assisted by Kalem Parker & Brayden Yager // After a flurry of opportunities for the Warriors, Firkus got the puck at the left face-off circle and his shot just squeaked through Huet to give the Warriors a 1-0 lead early.
Second Period
1-1 Pats at 1:04 - Tye Spencer (4), assisted by Parker Berge & Tanner Howe (PP) // Berge's shot from the point went through legs and Spencer got a piece of it to deflect it past Unger to get the Pats on even terms at 1-1 early in the second period.
2-1 Pats at 2:57 - Braxton Whitehead (6), assisted by Parker Berge & Tanner Howe (PP) // Less than two minutes after the Pats tied the game up, the Pats made it 2-1 with a goal almost identical to their first. This time Whitehead deflected Berge's shot past Unger to give the Pats a 2-1 lead.
3-1 Pats at 4:26- Braxton Whitehead (7), assisted by Borya Valis & Parker Berge (PP) // Another power play, another tipped shot, this time Valis's shot from the left circle was redirected by Whitehead past Unger to extend the Pats lead to 3-1.
Third Period
4-1 Pats at 6:41 - Tanner Howe (8), assisted by Parker Berge & Borya Valis (PP) // Berge's shot was blockered away by Unger but the Pats regained control and it eventually ended up on the Pats' Captain's stick where Howe ripped a shot past Unger to give the Pats a 4-1 lead near the midway point of the third period.
4-2 Warriors at 17:53 - Jagger Firkus (7), assisted by Denton Mateychuk & Brayden Yager (PP) // The Warriors worked the puck around the Pats zone where Firkus wired a one-timer into the wide-open Pats cage to pull the Warriors to within a pair at 4-2.

Braxton Whitehead is riding a career-high four-game goal-scoring streak. His two goals match a career-high for goals in a game (previously done on 2-1-23 vs Calgary).
Borya Valis (1G-4A) has extended his point streak to four straight contests.
Parker Berge had four assists in the contest. The four assists are a career-high for assists and points in a game. He's also on a three-game point streak (1G-6A)
Tanner Howe played in his 150th career WHL game, he also notched a pair of helpers which gives him 100 career assists in the WHL he also added a goal to give him 17 points (8G-9A) on the season.
The four powerplay goals that the Pats scored are a season-high. The previous high was two.
