Parley Named Rbk Hockey ECHL Goaltender of the Week

North Charleston, SC - The South Carolina Stingrays, ECHL affiliate of the Washington Capitals of the National Hockey League and the Hershey Bears of the American Hockey League, announced today that Davis Parley has been named the Rbk Hockey ECHL Goaltender of the Week for Dec. 17-23.

The 25 year old was 2-0-0 with a 1.00 goals-against average and a .958 save percentage as the Stingrays went 3-0-0 to extend their winning streak to nine games and move into a tie for third place in the South Division with 33 points (16-9-1).

The 6-foot-2 and 182-pound Parley made 21 saves in a 6-1 win against Pensacola on Dec. 19 before turning aside 25 shots in a 4-1 win against Charlotte to extend his winning streak to six games.

Selected in the fourth round (120th overall) by the Florida Panthers in the 2000 National Hockey League Entry Draft, Parley is 9-3-1 and ranks seventh in the ECHL with a 2.23 goals-against average and is tied for seventh with a .922 save percentage in 13 games.

In 2006-07 with the Stingrays, the Grenfell, Saskatchewan native was 31-19-7 and set career highs with three shutouts and 60 appearances while compiling a 3.24 goals-against average and a .902 save percentage. He also played in the American Hockey League where he was 1-0-0 with a 1.00 goals-against average and a .955 save percentage in one game with Hershey.

In his fifth season in the ECHL, Parley is 73-78-23 with five shutouts and a 3.42 goals-against average and a .907 save percentage in 186 games with the Bakersfield Condors, Texas Wildcatters and South Carolina.

He played four years in the Western Hockey League with Kamloops where he was 80-61-10 with seven shutouts and a goals-against average of 3.05 and a save percentage of .907.
