
Farynuk Recalled To Springfield, Geris Returns to Lineup

STOCKTON, Calif. - The Stockton Thunder, the ECHL affiliate of the National Hockey League's Edmonton Oilers and American Hockey League's Springfield Falcons, has announced defenseman Brad Farynuk (FAR-nick) has been recalled from the Thunder to Springfield and defenseman Ryan Geris has been activated off the three-day injured reserve list.
The 25-year old previously appeared in one game with Springfield, going scoreless. Farynuk leads all Thunder defensemen in scoring with 12 points (2g-10a) in 24 games and was named to the National Conference roster for the 2008 Chase Chevrolet ECHL All-Star Game.
Farynuk signed an AHL contract with Springfield this summer and split his rookie season last year with the Dayton Bombers of the ECHL and Syracuse Crunch of the AHL, scoring 23 points (4g-19a) with 54 penalty minutes in 47 games with Dayton while adding an assist in 16 AHL games with Syracuse.
Currently in his first full ECHL season, Geris, 26, has scored six points (1g-5a) with 24 penalty minutes in 21 games with the Thunder this year.
The Thunder returns to play tonight with a 7:00 p.m. home game against the Fresno Falcons at Stockton Arena. The game can be heard live on radio at 1420-AM KSTN and on the internet (video and audio available) at www.stocktonthunder.com, courtesy of B2 Networks.
Host of the 2008 ECHL All-Star Game and festivities on Jan. 22 and 23, the Thunder has led the ECHL in attendance for two consecutive seasons and drew 244,085 fans to Stockton Arena in 2006-07.
