
Parley and McNeill Return to the Rays

North Charleston, SC - The South Carolina Stingrays and Head Coach Jared Bednar announced today that defenseman Grant McNeill and goaltender Davis Parley have been reassigned from the American Hockey League's Hershey Bears. Both players will be in the available for tonight when the Stingrays visit the Texas Wildcatters at 8:05. In a separate transaction, the Stingrays announced that goaltender Jay Chrapala and forward T.J. Sakaluk have been released.
McNeill, 24, played three games for the Bears since he was recalled from South Carolina on Dec. 29, collecting 13 penalty minutes. The Vermillion, Alberta native has skated in four games total with Hershey this season, accumulating 20 penalty minutes. With the Stingrays this season the fifth-year pro leads the team with 108 penalty minutes and a +13 plus-minus rating in 26 contests.
Parley, 25, started one game for Hershey during his recall, surrendering three goals in a 3-1 loss to the Worcester Sharks Jan. 2. In 13 contests for the Stingrays in 2007-08, the Grenfell, Saskatchewan native has gone 9-3-1 with a 2.23 goals-against average and a .922 save percentage.
Chrapala, 26, appeared in one game for South Carolina, stopping 11 of 12 shots faced in relief of starter Josh Johnson during last Saturday's 7-2 loss to the Florida Everblades.
Sakaluk, 24, saw action in four contests for the Stingrays, registering two assists and two penalty minutes.
