Las Vegas, NV - The Las Vegas Wranglers shutout the Victoria Salmon Kings 5-0 on Friday night in front of 4,510 fans at the Orleans Arena. All-Star goalie Daniel Manzato stopped all 25 shots for his third shutout of the season, improving to 13-3-3. Center Chris Ferraro had three assists, while twin brother Peter Ferraro scored twice. Forwards Kelly Czuy, Tyler Mosienko and Shawn Limpright each scored in the Las Vegas victory. Victoria's All-Star goalie Julien Ellis stopped 42 of the 47 Las Vegas shots in the loss. The same two teams meet at the Orleans Arena at 7:05 pm on Saturday night.
After a scoreless first period, Peter Ferraro scored his 15th goal of the season at 6:20 of the second period, giving the Wranglers a 1-0 lead. Forward Kelly Czuy scored his third goal of the season at 11:41, extending the Wranglers lead to 2-0. Peter Ferraro netted his second goal of the night and 16th of the season at 15:57 of the middle period, pushing the Las Vegas lead to 3-0 after two periods of play. Center Chris Ferraro assisted on all three second-period goals.
In the third period, left wing Shawn Limpright poked in a rebound for his seventh goal of the season at 8:12, as Las Vegas moved to a 4-0 lead. Center Tyler Mosienko capped off the night with his 12th goal of the season at 18:29 of the third period for the 5-0 final.
The fifth goal of the night completed the Del Taco Tally and all fans in attendance received free taco coupons compliments of Del Taco. The shutout was the team's fourth of the season.
Las Vegas concludes a six-game home stand with the Victoria Salmon Kings on Saturday, January 12th at 7:05 pm at the Orleans Arena.
