Pair Returns to Gladiators from AHL

The Gwinnett Gladiators announced today that forward Brad Schell has been assigned to the team from the Chicago Wolves of the American Hockey League. In a separate transaction, defenseman Jim Jackson has been assigned to the Gladiators from the Grand Rapids Griffins of the American Hockey League.

Schell returns to the Gladiators where he leads the ECHL in scoring with 98 points in 52 games this season. He also leads the league in assists with 75 on the year.

The third year forward is looking to become the first player to score 100 points in a season since Buddy Smith notched 104 during the 2002-03 season while with the Arkansas Riverblades.

Jackson returns to the Gladiators after appearing one game with the Grand Rapids Griffins. The defenseman was held scoreless in his first AHL game in the Griffins 3-2 loss to Rochester on Wednesday night.

The Marquette, Michigan native currently leads the Gladiators in plus/minus rating posting a +22 rating in 54 games this season with Gwinnett. He has posted 11 goals and 18 assists for 29 points for the Gladiators.

Schell and Jackson should be available for the Gladiators for tonight's 7:05 p.m. tilt in Columbia against the Inferno.
