Florida Everblades News Release

ESTERO, FL - Florida Everblades right wing Adam Taylor has been named the HOK Sport ECHL Plus Performer of the Month for February after finishing with a plus-minus rating of +11 in 13 games, the league announced today.

Taylor strung together his best month of the season by finishing even or better in every game but one during February. The 22-year-old ended the month with a nine-game point scoring streak (10g-8a) and overall led the Everblades with 11 goals and 20 points in February. He was a season-high +3 and registered his first professional hat trick on Feb. 14 against Gwinnett and finished +3 and had two goals in a 3-1 win at Augusta on Feb. 16. He was +2 in five games and +1 in four games in February and since joining the Everblades he has been even or better in 16 of 20 games.

Taylor has 24 points (12g-12a) and a plus-minus rating of +8 in 20 games since being acquired by the Everblades from Pensacola on Jan. 3 in exchange for defenseman Niko Tuomi. He began the season with Victoria and had six points (1g-5a) in 15 games before being traded with David Wrigley to Pensacola on Nov. 28, 2006 in exchange for Derek Krestanovich and Jordan Krestanovich. He had 11 points (3g-8a) in 15 games with the Ice Pilots giving him a total of 41 points (16g-25a) in 50 games this season.

Also today the Florida Everblades announced that forward David Brine has been reassigned to the team from the Rochester Americans of the American Hockey League. Brine's second trip to the AHL this season lasted just one game on Wednesday night vs. Grand Rapids, but the 22-year-old collected an assist and added a shot on goal. In five games total with Rochester this season the Truro, Nova Scotia native has one goal and one assist and is a plus-1.

In addition, the Everblades today activated forward Reggie Berg from the injured reserve list. Berg has been out of the Everblades lineup since Florida's 3-2 loss to the Charlotte Checkers on February 2. The 30-year-old has missed the last 11 games but is still third on the team in scoring with 46 points (21g, 25a) in 39 games played. Berg, who is in his seventh season with the Everblades, is just 10 points shy of becoming the organization's all-time leading scorer.

The Florida Everblades, proud affiliate of the Carolina Hurricanes and the Florida Panthers, return to the ice tonight when they take on the Augusta Lynx at 7:35 p.m. from James Brown Arena in Augusta, GA.
