Reading, PA (March 2, 2007) - The Reading Royals defeated the Johnstown Chiefs by a score of 3-2 on Friday evening at the Sovereing Center in Reading, Pennsylvania.

Johnstown got on the board first as Grant Jacobsen took a pass behind the net and made a wraparound move to beat Reading goaltender Yutaka Fukufuji at 10:48. Reading would tie the score on the power-play at 14:23 when Bryan Schmidt beat Chiefs goaltender Ryan Munce with a shot from the left point.

Reading took a 2-1 lead at 10:43 of the third period when Brett Smith scored on the rebound of a shot by John Snowden. Johnstown would tie the game on the power play at 13:25 when Gus Katsuras chipped a rebound past Fukufuji, but Reading would take the lead for good at 15:01 of the third when John Snowden tipped a shot from Joe Zappala past Munce.

The Chiefs return home on Sunday to face the Toledo Storm at 3:00 p.m. The first 2,000 fans through the gate will receive a voucher that could win them $500 cash courtesy of 1st Summit Bank!
