P-Bruins Fall to the Albany Devils, 2-1

PROVIDENCE, RI - In their first meeting of the 2014-15 season, the Providence Bruins took on the Albany Devils tonight at the Dunkin' Donuts Center.

The P-Bruins had an energetic start with some great scoring opportunities in the first. The Providence Bruins and the Albany Devils battled hard through the first frame of the game but were unable to break the 0-0 tie. The Albany Devils had 14 shots on goal in the first while the Providence Bruins were not far behind with 13.

Both teams came out of the locker room eager to get points on the board. 6:58 seconds into the period Jordan Caron notched a goal for the P-Bruins with the assists going to Alexander Khokhlachev and Ryan Spooner. The P-Bruins did not keep their lead for long thanks to a goal from Zajac who got the Albany Devils got on the board 11:03 into the period. Scott Timmins followed up Zajac's goal to break the 1-1 tie at the 16:01 mark in the 2nd.

In the third period, the P-Bruins showed no signs of letting up and kept the shots in their favor throughout; however, the Devils were never far behind. With one minute left in the period, Malcolm Subban left the P-Bruins net which was immediately followed by a penalty for hooking on #36 Eric Baier of the Albany Devils. Despite some great scoring opportunities, the Providence Bruins were unable to find the back of the net in the third and ultimately fell to the Albany Devils 2-1.
