Wilkes-Barre/Scranton Penguins News Release
WILKES-BARRE, Pa. - The Pittsburgh Penguins (NHL) have assigned defenseman Clark Seymour to Wilkes-Barre/Scranton from the Wheeling Nailers (ECHL), it was announced today. In addition, the Wilkes-Barre/Scranton Penguins have recalled defenseman Alex Boak from loan to Wheeling.
Boak began the 2014-15 season with Wilkes-Barre/Scranton and skated in five games, registering 10 penalty minutes and a +1 plus-minus rating. The 24-year old rookie from Norwood, NY played in three games for the Nailers after being loaned to Wheeling on Nov. 24.
Boak totaled seven goals, 24 assists and 357 penalty minutes over 148 games with Clarkson University from 2010-14. He went on to make his pro debut last spring with the Nailers, where he skated in eight games and recorded 24 penalty minutes.
Currently his first season of professional hockey, Seymour has recorded one goal, four assists and 15 penalty minutes over games with the Nailers.
A 21-year old native of Brockville, Ontario, Seymour was originally a fifth-round pick (143rd overall) of the Penguins in 2012. Seymour played five seasons in the Ontario Hockey League (2009-14) between Peterborough and the Kingston Frontenacs, collecting 57 points (14G-43A) and 272 PIM over 288 contests.
On Friday night, the Lehigh Valley Phantoms skate into the Mohegan Sun Arena for the second time this season. The Penguins will debut their 2014 Christmas sweaters during the game, and the first 1,500 fans ages 18 and older through the doors will receive a voucher good for a free scratch off ticket from the Pennsylvania Lottery.
Tickets for this game, as well as for all Penguins home games, are available at the Mohegan Sun Arena Box Office, online at TicketMaster.com, or by calling 800-745-3000.
