Oklahoma City Barons News Release

GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. - Andrew Miller scored two goals to lead the Oklahoma City Barons to a franchise record-tying seventh win in a row by downing the Grand Rapids Griffins 4-1 Friday night at Van Andel Arena.

The Barons are now undefeated in their last nine games (8-0-0-1) and have not lost since a 4-2 decision against the Iowa Wild on Nov. 14.

Netting a pair of goals, the Michigan-native Miller recorded his first career AHL multi-goal game. Miller's first goal gave the Barons a 1-0 lead at 10:08 of the first period when he received a Ryan Hamilton pass and skated to the left circle before firing a shot over the glove of Grand Rapids goalie Tom McCollum.

With the Barons on the power play midway through the second period, Miller notched his second goal of the game by jamming the rebound of a Brad Hunt shot from the point past McCollum to give Oklahoma City a 2-0 lead. The goal marked the first power play score by the Barons in 16 chances dating back to Nov. 21.

Ryan Hamilton added a goal at the 4:21 mark of the third period to extend the Barons' lead to 3-0 when he received a long pass from Jason Williams that created a breakaway attempt and stickhandled the puck past a sliding McCollum.

At 14:21 of the third, Grand Rapids scored on a shot from the point by Teemu Pulkkinen that deflected off of traffic in front of the Oklahoma City net and sailed past Barons goalie Richard Bachman. The Griffins' goal was the first allowed by Bachman in his last 145:16 of play dating back to a second period goal in the Nov. 28 game against Texas.

Oklahoma City's Anton Lander added an empty net goal at 17:41 of the third period.

The Barons next travel to Milwaukee to take on the Admirals Friday, Dec. 6 in a 7 p.m. start at the BMO Harris Bradley Center.
