Albany Devils News Release
PROVIDENCE, RI -- Darcy Zajac and Scott Timmins scored back-to-back, second period goals, helping the Albany Devils to a 2-1 victory against the Providence Bruins Friday at Dunkin' Donuts Center. Albany extended its point streak to five games (4-0-0-1) with its third consecutive victory.
The Devils are now 11-6-1-4, while the Bruins move to 9-11-2-0.
Keith Kinkaid registered his seventh win of the season despite taking a four minute break at the end of the second period. Albany did trail during the game. Providence's Jordan Caron opened the scoring with a power-play tally at 6:58 of the middle frame.
The lead lasted just over four minutes. Zajac redirected newcomer Mike Keenan's point shot at 11:03 to tie the game.
Moments later, Timmins put back a rebound opportunity off Eric Baier's point shot at 16:01. Joe Whitney registered his team-leading 20th point with the secondary assist on the power play goal.
Providence's Malcolm Subban suffered the loss. He made 29 saves on 31 tries.
