Orioles LHP Brian Matusz Assigned to Bowie

BOWIE, Md. - The Bowie Baysox and Baltimore Orioles announce today that Baltimore Orioles left-handed starting pitcher Brian Matusz has been assigned to Bowie as part of a Major League rehab assignment. Matusz is scheduled to start for Bowie Saturday, May 21, as the Baysox take on the Erie SeaWolves at 6:35 p.m.

Matusz last pitched in Bowie in 2009, when he went 7-0 in eight games with a 1.55 ERA and 46 strikeouts in 46.1 innings. The Orioles first round selection (fourth overall) in the 2008 First Year Player Draft, Matusz was promoted directly from Bowie to Baltimore in his first professional season.
