Tonight, the SeaWolves begin a seven-game road trip and a three-game series as they take on the Bowie Baysox (Baltimore Orioles) at Prince George's Stadium. Yesterday, the SeaWolves dropped the longest game in team history (16 innings) to the Trenton Thunder 9-6. The loss dropped the SeaWolves back to three-games under .500 at 17-20. Despite the loss, the SeaWolves are still only 1.5 games out of first place. The entire Western Division is separated by 1.5 games...The Baysox were on the winning end of their second 16 inning game of the season last night in Richmond. The Baysox scored a run in the top of the 16th and went on to defeat the Flying Squirrels 3-2...Bowie is tied for first in the division with a .500 mark of 20-20. Bowie enters play today tied for 11th in the league with a .229 team batting average. The Baysox
pitching staff ranks fourth in the EL with a 3.37 team ERA...Both the SeaWolves and Baysox are 5-5 in their last 10 games...Tonight, righty Luke Putkonen makes his eighth start of the season and his fourth against the Baysox. He took a loss in his last start and has dropped four of his last five. He worked a season-best six innings in his last start and that snapped a string of four straight starts not making it passed the fourth...RHP Steve Johnson takes the mound for Bowie making his sixth start and second against Erie. The 'Wolves beat Johnson on May 8 in Erie. He took a no-decision in his last start against Akron allowing two run on seven hits with a pair of walks and six strikeouts in six innings of work. Johnson has worked six innings in each of his last four starts and is 1-1 with two no-decisions in that span.
