Today's Game: The Oklahoma City Dodgers open their final series of the 2019 season at 7:05 p.m. at Chickasaw Bricktown Ballpark against the New Orleans Baby Cakes and tonight's game kicks off Fan Appreciation Weekend. The first 1,000 fans will receive a Dodgers hat, select players will be available for pregame autographs and the OKC Disc Dogs will perform on the field throughout the night. Friday Night Fireworks, presented by Supermercados Morelos, are scheduled to follow the game.

Last Game: The Dodgers scored six straight runs over the fourth and fifth innings to overcome an early deficit and defeat Iowa, 9-4, Thursday night at Chickasaw Bricktown Ballpark. The Cubs scored in the second inning when Robel Garcia led off with a triple and scored on a RBI single by P.J. Higgins. Iowa loaded the bases in the third inning and Garcia hit a two-run single to push Iowa's lead to 3-0. The Dodgers scored three runs in the bottom of the fourth inning to tie the game. DJ Peters drove in two runs with a double into left field, and Zach McKinstry later grounded a RBI single into right field. The Dodgers took the lead in the fifth inning, scoring three runs with two outs. Gavin Lux drew a walk and scored on a RBI double by Austin Barnes. Edwin RÃ-os followed and hit a towering fly ball out to the Budweiser Deck in left field for his team-leading 30th homer of the season. Iowa added a run via a RBI groundout in the seventh inning to cut OKC's lead to 6-4. The first six OKC batters of the seventh inning reached base without a hit. The first run scored on a wild pitch. Later with the bases loaded, Zach Reks was hit by a pitch, and Connor Joe drew a bases-loaded walk for a 9-4 advantage. Dodgers starting pitcher Justin DeFratus (3-5) earned the win, allowing four runs (three earned) and eight hits over 6.2 innings. He issued two walks and recorded two strikeouts. Iowa's Colin Rea (14-4) took the loss on the day he was named PCL Pitcher of the Year.

Today's Probable Pitcher: J.D. Martin (3-2) looks to rebound from back-to-back losses when he takes the mound tonight...Martin most recently pitched Aug. 25 at San Antonio, allowing three runs and five hits over 5.0 innings with two walks and one strikeout. After giving up a three-run homer in the first inning, Martin settled in and later finished his outing by retiring nine of his last 10 batters...Over his last four outings combined, Martin has issued 20 walks and hit five batters and has allowed eight homers. He's a had a tough time starting smoothly, allowing at least one run and at least one homer in the first inning of each of his last four starts. Over those four frames he's allowed 11 runs with 10 walks and five hit batters...Martin has spent the bulk of the season with Tulsa and made 14 starts for the Drillers, going 2-7 with a 5.38 ERA and 1.56 WHIP in 80.1 IP with 38 walks and 66 K's. He was named Texas League Pitcher of the Week after 7.0 scoreless innings against Midland May 2...The 2019 season is his 17th in professional baseball. He was originally selected by Cleveland with the 35th overall pick in the 2001 MLB Draft from Burroughs High School in Ridgecrest, Calif. and made his Major League debut July 20, 2009 with Washington...Tonight is Martin's second appearance of the season against the Baby Cakes. He made his Dodgers debut June 25 against New Orleans in OKC, allowing four runs and five hits over 7.0 innings and earned the win in the team's 8-5 victory.

Against the Baby Cakes: 2019: 5-7 2018: 9-7 All-time: 183-161 At OKC: 97-74 The Dodgers and Baby Cakes close out the season with their fourth series of 2019 and second at Chickasaw Bricktown Ballpark...This is the final series ever between the Dodgers and Baby Cakes, as the New Orleans franchise is relocating to Wichita next season...The teams split their previous series in OKC, June 25-28, with each of the final three games decided by one or two runs...So far the Baby Cakes have outscored the Dodgers, 82-55, and outhit the Dodgers, 125-79. The Baby Cakes are batting .302, while holding OKC to a .199 average. The Dodgers have been held to one or no runs four times in 11 meetings, and have at least 10 strikeouts in nine of 12 games...OKC won the 2018 series between the teams, 9-7, and has now won four of the last five season series against the Baby Cakes.

Eddie Stays Ready: Edwin RÃ-os homered in a third straight game last night, connecting on a two-run homer in the fifth inning. It was his team-leading and Dodgers minor league-leading 30th homer of the season. He's gone deep in four of his last five starts and has homered in three straight games for the third time since the All-Star Break...With Thursday's homer, RÃ-os became just the third OKC player with a 30-homer season during the team's modern PCL era, joining Nelson Cruz (37 in 2008) and Mike Hessman (35 in 2012). He is up to 86 RBI this season, becoming the first OKC player with that many RBI since 2008...RÃ-os has cranked 16 homers in just 31 games following the All-Star Break after hitting 14 dingers in 71 games before the break. The 16 homers during that time rank tied for fourth in the PCL, and the three individuals ahead of him have played in at least five more games than RÃ-os.

Simply De-Lux: Gavin Lux was held without a hit for a second straight game last night, marking the first time in his 48 games with OKC he has gone consecutive games without a hit. Lux did draw two walks Thursday and scored two runs and has now reached base safely in 45 of his first 48 games with OKC. Since joining OKC June 27, Lux is slashing .390/.478/.723/1.201. He has 76 hits, 24 multi-hit games, 35 XBH, 39 RBI and 54 runs. During that time, Lux's AVG, OBP and OPS rank second in the domestic full-season Minors or Majors, while his runs are tied for second, total bases are fifth, SLG is sixth and extra-base hits are tied for seventh...He was named PCL Player of the Month for July, becoming the first OKC player to receive a PCL monthly honor since MLBAM began tracking the awards in 2010...Between OKC and Tulsa, Lux is batting .346 and his 157 total hits are tied for fifth in the domestic Minors...He entered Thursday's game with a batting average below .400 for the first time since joining OKC.

Kings of K's: OKC's pitching staff paces the PCL with 1,249 strikeouts and has 12 more strikeouts than second-place San Antonio despite throwing 34.1 fewer innings. The Dodgers need 29 K's over the final four games to surpass the team record of 1,277 set in 2017...On the other hand, OKC has now struck out 1,226 times this season - second-most in the PCL - and has set a new team single-season record (previously 1,208 in 2016).

Where's the Beef?: After being held to 11 runs in the previous four games combined, the Dodgers' offense broke out for nine runs last night. Entering Thursday's game, the Dodgers had scored 18 runs over the last seven games combined, and during that time, OKC batted .217 (45x207) with seven home runs and 15 extra-base hits. OKC went 3-for-6 with runners in scoring position Thursday after entering the game going 5-for-the-last-55...The team has been held to three or fewer runs in 10 of the last 18 games after a streak of 22 straight games with four or more runs.

Mound Maladies: The Dodgers allowed three earned runs and four runs total last night while Justin DeFratus turned in the team's second quality start of the month. Tonight they'll look to hold their opponent to four or fewer runs in consecutive games for the first time since Aug. 9...OKC's 6.93 ERA this month is the second-highest among all teams in the domestic Minors or Majors (Fresno -- 6.98) and OKC has allowed the fourth-most runs among all teams in the domestic Minors. Opponents have totaled 188 runs and 263 hits, with 56 homers and 115 extra-base hits, batting .296...The 56 home runs allowed are tied with Reno for the most among all teams in the Minors. Last night snapped a season-high streak of 14 consecutive games allowing at least one homer (30 HR). The team has allowed a home run in 17 of the last 19 games (38 HR).

Around the Horn: The Dodgers are 3-11 over their last 14 games and tonight look for their first consecutive wins since Aug. 12-13 vs. Reno... Since joining OKC Aug. 4, Zach McKinstry is batting .403 (31x77) with 15 extra-base hits, 26 RBI and 15 runs scored over 23 games...The Dodgers have lost five straight series openers...Connor Joe tied his season high with three walks last night. He's tied for third in the PCL with 71 walks and ranks fourth with a .426 OBP. He's the first OKC player with that many walks in a season since Brandon Boggs in 2010 (72)...Since moving to the bullpen earlier this month, Dennis Santana has allowed three earned runs and seven hits over 11.2 IP with 18 strikeouts.
