Nappo to New Orleans; Morey Returns to Jacksonville Disabled List

PENSACOLA, Fla. - The Miami Marlins announced a pair of transactions that impact their Double-A affiliate Jacksonville Suns roster prior to tonight's game against the Pensacola Blue Wahoos at Pensacola Bayfront Stadium at 7:30 p.m. ET.

Left-handed relief pitcher Greg Nappo has been transferred from the Suns to Triple-A New Orleans. Nappo pitched in 24 games for the Suns, going 2-0 with a 2.20 ERA in 32 and two-third innings on the mound with one save. Nappo did not allow a run in his 13 appearances and 20 and a third innings with Jacksonville. Nappo pitched in New Orleans earlier this season, going 1-0 with a 12.27 ERA in three appearances for the Zephyrs.

Right-handed pitcher Robert Morey has returned to the Jacksonville disabled list from his rehab assignment with the GCL Marlins. In three starts with the GCL Marlins, Morey went 0-1 with a 0.93 ERA, allowing only one earned run in nine and two-thirds innings on the mound, striking out 11 batters compared to one walk. He remains on the Jacksonville disabled list, recovering from right biceps tendinitis, and he was originally placed on the disabled list on April 22. With the Suns Morey had no wins or losses and a 4.82 ERA in five relief appearances.

The Suns roster now stands at 23 active players and a revised roster is attached.

Tonight the Suns will send out left-hander Justin Nicolino (7-2, 3.07) while the Wahoos will counter with right-hander Robert Stephenson (3-6, 4.17).
