PENSACOLA, Fla. - The Miami Marlins announced a transaction that impacts their Double-A affiliate Jacksonville Suns roster prior to tonight's game against the Pensacola Blue Wahoos at Pensacola Bayfront Stadium at 7:30 p.m. ET.

Suns outfielder Brent Keys, who was designated for assignment by the Marlins on Monday, has cleared waivers and his contract has been outrighted to Double-A Jacksonville.

Keys was hitting .238 (36-for-151) with no home runs and 10 RBI in 40 games for Jacksonville since joining the Suns on May 10 after starting the season on the disabled list.

Keys was designated for assignment to make room on the 40-man roster for left-handed relief pitcher Donnie Joseph, who the Marlins acquired via trade earlier today from the Kansas City Royals for cash. Joseph will report to Triple-A New Orleans in the Marlins organization.

Keys, who is the reigning Miami Marlins Minor League Player of the Year, is listed by Baseball America as Miami's No. 20 prospect entering this season.

The Suns roster now stands at 24 active players and a revised roster is attached.

Tonight the Suns will send out left-hander Justin Nicolino (7-2, 3.07) while the BayBears will counter with right-hander Robert Stephenson (3-6, 4.17).

Suns fans can listen to Wednesday's game on the Suns Baseball Network, 94.1 WSOS-FM or throughwww.jaxsuns.com, MiLB.com or the Suns iPhone or Android app, beginning at 7:15 p.m. ET with the Memorial Hospital Suns Pregame Show.

The 2014 season of Suns baseball is presented by EverBank, the official banking partner of the Jacksonville Suns. Sponsorships, group outings, and season / individual game tickets are currently available by calling the Suns front office at (904) 358-2846.
