Pearl, MS - Mississippi Braves RHP Ryan Weber(3-2)turned in eight dominant innings leading the Braves past the Huntsville Stars 5-1 Wednesday night at Trustmark Park in Pearl.
Weber, who was making a spot start for the injured JR Graham allowed just three hits in his eight innings. The only run he allowed was a Josh Prince rbi single in the top of the fourth inning which tied the game at 1-1.
Mississippi took the lead for good against Huntsville starter Brent Stuer(7-6) in the bottom of the fourth inning.
Kyle Kubitza, who went 3-4 with 3 rbi's broke the tie on a two-run triple giving the Braves a 3-1 lead.
Daniel Castro and Kyle Wren each provided rbi singles giving the Braves a 5-1 advantage.
Suter, who did not make it out of the fifth inning gave up five runs in 4.1 innings on the mound. Suter also walked three and struck out two for the Stars who lost their third straight game.
The Braves(9-5, 48-35) lead the Stars(7-7, 53-31) 3-1 in their five game series. The Series finale will be Thursday. RHP Andy Moye (4-0, 2.80) will start for the Stars. Mississippi will have RHP Mitch Atkins(2-0, 3.86) on the mound. The game can be heard with Steve Jarnicki starting at 6:45 pm CDT on 92.9 FM, 1450 AM and wtkiradio.com.
