TOLEDO, OH - The Wheeling Nailers were shutout for just the second time this season, 6-0, by the Toledo Storm Friday night at the Toledo Sports Arena. Logan Koopmans stopped 27 shots as the Storm used five first period goals to propel them to their second straight win against the Nailers.

The Storm had six different goal scorers, 10 different players registered at least a point in the contest and five players had multipoint games.

The scoring started at 2:48 of the first period as T.J. Sakaluk knocked the puck out of the air and past Andrew Penner on the power play.

Chris Blight made it 2-0 at 9:31 after a scramble in front left Blight alone at the side of the net for a tap in.

P.J. Martin and Andrew Martin each scored on one-times 1:05 apart to chase Penner from the goal, replaced by Andy Franck. It was Franck's first relief appearance of the season.

A third power-play goal of the period, this one from Dan Watson, increased the lead to five before the end of the first.

A scoreless second period was followed by a physical third, highlighted by a pair of fights. Bruce Mulherin added the sixth Storm goal at 15:50 of the third on the power play. Toledo went 4 for 11 on the man advantage while the Nailers were 0 for 4.

The only other time Wheeling has been shut out this season was Feb. 6 against the Dayton Bombers.

The Nailers and Storm will for the third time in as many games Saturday night at WesBanco Arena. The first 2,500 fans, 21 and over, will receiver an Andy Franck mini-bobblehead courtesy of Guinness.

Wheeling will be wearing special St. Patrick's Day jerseys that will be auctioned off directly following the game.
