Augusta Lynx News Release

Beaumont, TX - Dave McKee turned in a sterling performance, making 42 saves for his first professional shutout and tying the Lynx record for wins in a season as Augusta downed the Texas Wildcatters 2-0 Saturday night at Ford Arena.

Garrett Bembridge notched the only marker of the opening frame when he deflected a point shot from Sean Blanchard past Matt Yeats at 6:29. Shane Hynes also assisted on the power play goal, giving the Lynx a 1-0 lead through 20 minutes of play.

Blanchard and Greg Watson would work a two-on-one break to perfection at 15:39 of the second stanza, with Watson sliding the puck through the wickets on Yeats for a 2-0 Lynx lead. Joe Pereira also helped set up the goal, Watson's 11th of the year.

McKee would make 16 saves in the second period and 11 in the third, helping the Lynx kill off six power play chances versus the ECHL's fourth-best man advantage unit. With the victory, the Anaheim Ducks prospect ties Judd Lambert's team record for wins in a season with 27 and keeps the Lynx in the thick of the playoff chase.

Augusta returns home Thursday night to face the Charlotte Checkers, followed by the South Carolina Stingrays on Friday night. Both games begin at 7:35 pm. Tickets are on sale now for all remaining home games by calling the team office at (706) 724-4ICE, through all TicketMaster locations, and on line at www.TicketMaster.com.
