LONG BEACH, Calif. - Mike Scott scored the game-tying goal with 10:22 left in the third period, allowing Alaska to earn a point in an eventual 3-2 shootout loss to the Ice Dogs before 2,671 Saturday at Long Beach Arena.

After a scoreless first period in which each team managed nine shots on goal, two quick strikes by Long Beach stunned Alaska early in the second. Gary Gladue scored just his second goal of the year 50 seconds into the period in a four-on-four situation, then assisted on Ash Goldie's 31st of the season 17 seconds later, and suddenly, the Aces trailed 2-0. Alaska finally got on the board when Barrett Heisten found Corbin Schmidt for a one-timer with 2:29 left in the period. The goal marked Schmidt's fifth of the year and his first since February 3.

After Vladimir Novak went down with an injury early in the third period, the riled-up Aces tied the game 2-2 on a howitzer by Scott from the top of the right circle, but failed to convert two subsequent power plays that might have won the game in regulation. Long Beach scored on all three of its shootout attempts against Isaac Reichmuth, who was brilliant in regulation, finishing with 30 saves, while only Scott managed to solve 'Dogs netminder Brett Jaeger in the extra session.

The Aces, still unbeaten in their last 13 games (10-0-3) and 45-13-5 overall, head back to Fresno tomorrow at 4:00 p.m. ADT. Alaska has beaten its long-time rival five straight times this season. Immediately after Friday's 3-1 win over the Falcons, winger Ryan MacMurchy was re-called by Alaska's AHL affiliate in Peoria. The 23-year-old MacMurchy, who has four goals and six assists in 18 games with the Aces this season, had been set to return from a 10-game suspension for a hit in Phoenix February 17 but instead played for the Rivermen in a 5-4 win at Omaha Saturday.

Tickets for Alaska's final regular season games at Sullivan Arena against the Utah Grizzlies on April 4, 6, and 7 are now available at participating Fred Meyer locations or by logging onto www.alaskaaces.com. 2007 Kelly Cup playoff tickets go on sale to the general public March 26.
