Fresno Falcons News Release
Fresno, Calif. - The Fresno Falcons announced today that the team will hold "Fire and Ice Night" on Tuesday, March 20, when they host the Long Beach Ice Dogs at 7:00 p.m.
Tuesday will be a celebration of Central Valley Soccer when the Fresno Fuego PDL Soccer team coached by Scott Alcorn is introduced on the ice along with Major League Soccer's Real Salt Lake Team featuring Freddy Adu. All youth and school soccer teams and leagues may attend the hockey game for only $7 by wearing their soccer jersey or organizing a group in advance by calling the Falcons at 559-485-PUCK! All Soccer groups will be allowed to appear on the ice with the Fuego and Real Salt Lake teams during the first intermission.
The Fuego welcome Real Salt Lake to Chukchansi Park starting Monday for a week of training and community activities. The week concludes on Saturday, March 24, with a 7:30 p.m. soccer match between the Fuego and Real Salt Lake at Chukchansi Park.
At the age of 14, Adu became the youngest professional athlete in modern American team sports history when he signed a professional contract with Major League Soccer. He played three years with D.C. United, before being traded to Real Salt Lake during this past off-season. Adu has scored 28 points in 87 career MLS games.
Tuesday's game against Long Beach is also a Two-for-Tuesday, presented by Carl's Jr., KMPH Fox 26, and KRZR 103.7 FM. Fans can visit any area Carl's Jr. location, and pick up a voucher allowing them to purchase one ticket at regular price, and get a second ticket for free. Tuesday is also College Night, with FREE admission to anyone presenting a valid college student ID at the Save Mart Center Box Office.
The Falcons are home tonight, hosting the Idaho Steelheads at 7:30 p.m. for a St. Patrick's Day Celebration. The first 2,000 fans in attendance receive a St. Patrick's Day puck courtesy of Supercuts and 95.7 The Fox. The Falcons will wear special green jerseys, presented by CBS 47 and Madtown Auto Stereo and Accessories, which will be auctioned off following the game to benefit the Fresno Police Chief's Foundation.
