QUICK BITS

TAKING ON TOLEDO:

The Greenville swamp rabbits take on the Toledo walleye for the second night in a row after falling 3-2 in overtime. Despite Toledo scoring the first goal thanks to Brett Boeing, Greenville controlled the puck early and looked dominant to start the game. Corbin Baldwin would make the bunnies fly as he scored the first goal of the game for the Swamp Rabbits at 14:22 of the first period. Max zimmer wasted no time in the second period, scoring a one time goal from the point at 1:03 after a great pass from Josh Burnside. The tide turned in favor of the Walleye in the third period. Toledo would tie the game at 1:53 of the third thanks to a Cole Fraser goal. Ultimately winning the game 0:24 into overtime with a TJ Hensick goal. Toledo holds a 14-6-0-1 record while averaging 3.86 goals per game.

BUNNIES BY BALDWIN

Defenseman Corbin Baldwin scored his first goal of the season on Saturday night, triggering a shower of bunnies raining down on the ice. Baldwin's goal was his first point as a Swamp Rabbits in just his fifth game in a Greenville sweater.

MAGIC MAX:

Max Zimmer did it again. After returning from Charlotte Saturday morning, Zimmer wasted no time before scoring for the Swamp Rabbits. For the third time this season, Zimmer scored a goal in his first game back with the Bits. Zimmer has nine goals and seven assists in 18 games with the Swamp Rabbits in 2021. Zimmer has also appeared in three games for the Charlotte Checkers.

FREDDY'S FIRED UP:

One of the more impressive performances over the last few game has been the consistent play of forward Freddy Letourneau. The Montreal native has tallied four points in his last 5 games and has been providing consistent pressure on the opposing net. With 3 of the 4 points coming as assists, Letourneau has proven himself a helping hand in propelling one of the most impressive combination of skaters alongside Ben Freeman and Dallas Gerads

WHAT ON TAP:

The Swamp Rabbits have 10 days off before taking on the Cyclones in Cincinnati on the 29th. The Cyclones hold a 12-11-0-1 record this season, averaging 3.34 goals per game.
