Moose one of many to thank Flood Fighters with free tickets
April 3, 2009 - American Hockey League (AHL)
Manitoba Moose News Release
The Manitoba Moose are pleased to announce members of the organization will be on site at the Kingston Row sandbag registration area as well as registration site along Scotia Street on Saturday, April 4th to hand out 200 pairs of Moose tickets for their final regular season game at the MTS Centre that night. The tickets will be distributed from 10:00 am - 11:00 am to thank volunteers who have been tirelessly sandbagging in an effort to prevent flood damage.
The Moose will host the Toronto Marlies at the MTS Centre in a possible Calder Cup North Division Semi-Final preview. Game time is 7:30 p.m. One lucky fan will have the chance to drive away from the game with a brand new 2009 Toyota Tundra 4x2 compliments of Manitoba and Kenora Toyota dealers.
Tickets for those at the sandbagging site were discounted by the Manitoba Moose and purchased and donated by the NDP Caucus, the Manitoba Moose and several local businesses. In addition, the hockey club has also partnered with Tribal Council Investment Groups (TCIG) to host 400 evacuated members of the Roseau River First Nation at the game on Saturday night.
Another 150 pairs of tickets were given to St. Andrews to recognize the volunteers at their location.
