HAMILTON, ONT. - Hamilton Bulldogs forward Charles Hudon scored his team-leading 11th goal of the season, but it wasn't enough as the 'Dogs (16-15-6-0) fell 2-1 to the Lake Erie Monsters (15-15-2-3) 2-1 on Saturday evening at FirstOntario Centre.

After the two teams battled to a 0-0 draw through 40 minutes, Lake Erie forward Joey Hishon gave his club a 1-0 lead 28 seconds into the third period, assisted by defenceman Karl Stollery.

Hudon tied the game with a one-timer 7:54 into the final frame, with assists from forwards T.J. Hensick and Drayson Bowman.

With less than four minutes to play, Monsters forward Trevor Cheek scored the eventual game winner, assisted by defenceman Maxim Noreau and forward Mitchell Heard.

Mike Condon made 27 saves on 29 shots for the Bulldogs in the loss, while Calvin Pickard stopped 23 of 24 shots faced for the Monsters in the win.

Hamilton went 0-for-5 on the power play, while Lake Erie was 0-for-3 with a man advantage.

The Bulldogs will be back in action on Sunday, Jan. 11 when they'll host the Oklahoma City Barons at FirstOntario Centre at 3 p.m.
