MANCHESTER, N.H. - The Manchester Monarchs received two goals from Kevin Morris en route to their second-consecutive series sweep, and beat the Norfolk Admirals, 5-3, Friday night at SNHU Arena.

The Monarchs (15-7-1-1) have now taken all three contests this season against the Admirals (3-15-4-0), and have won four consecutive games.

"I thought it was a hard-fought game," Monarchs Head Coach, Rich Seeley, said. "We had and up-and-down first period, but overall, it was a balanced team effort and we're happy to come out with the two points."

After a scoreless first period, Justin Agosta opened the scoring for the Monarchs at 5:10 of the second period, when he scored his 6th goal of the season. Tony Turgeon skated the puck to the bottom of the right circle and dropped a pass into the slot where Agosta received the pass in stride and sent a shot past Admirals goaltender, Connor Knapp, for the 1-0 Monarchs lead.

Zac Lynch extended the Manchester lead 2:07 later when he scored his 4th goal of the season. Morris handled the puck in the right corner and was able to find Lynch in the low slot with a centering pass, and with plenty of space, Lynch buried his shot past Knapp to make it 2-0 Manchester.

Twenty seconds after the Lynch goal, the Admirals got on the board when T.J. Foster scored his 4th goal of the season. Foster threw the puck toward the slot, but hit the leg of Connor Hardowa and the puck slipped past Monarchs goaltender, Sam Brittain, to make it a 2-1 game.

Moments after stepping out of the penalty box, Morris gave the Monarchs their two-goal lead back at 10:28 of the second period when he scored his 3rd goal of the season. Morris skated down the right wing and snapped a shot that beat Knapp on the short-side, giving Manchester a 3-1 advantage.

The Admirals cut into the Manchester lead when Foster scored his second goal of the game at 14:15 of the middle frame. Foster found some space along the right wall while breaking into the offensive zone, and took a shot from the hash mark that beat Brittain to the glove side, bringing the score to, 3-2, Monarchs.

The Monarchs pushed their lead back to two on a disputed play at 16:08 of the second period. After circling the Admirals net, Morris camped in the slot and redirected a shot from Teddy Doherty while the net was being tipped forward by an Admirals skater. The puck slid through the blue paint and beneath the lifted back of the cage, and to the dismay of the Norfolk bench, the referee immediately signaled for a goal, making the score, 4-2, Manchester.

Daniel Doremus gave the Monarchs a three-goal cushion when he scored his 3rd goal of the season at 2:26 of the third period. After hesitating with the puck to the left of the goal, Doremus and sent a shot on net that beat Knapp high to the short side to give the Monarchs a 5-2 lead.

The Admirals were able to tack on a late goal at 19:19 into the third period on a shot by John Kurtz. With the play behind Brittain's goal, an errant Monarchs clearing attempt found the stick of Kurtz alone on the left dot, where he buried a quick shot up and over the right shoulder of the Monarchs netminder to end the scoring at 5-3.

The Monarchs are back in action Friday, December 16 (7 p.m.), when the Elmira Jackals make their way to SNHU Arena for the start of a two-game series.
