Mavericks Sign Matt Robertson

INDEPENDENCE, Mo. - The Missouri Mavericks announced today that they have signed rookie forward Matt Robertson to a standard player contract.

Robertson, 24, is a 6-foot-1, 185-pound winger who began this season by appearing in two games with the Reading Royals. He signed with Reading over the summer after completing his collegiate career at Ferris State University where he was teammates with former Mavericks center Kyle Schempp.

A native of Rohnert Park, Calif., Robertson appeared in 142 career games for Ferris State and racked up 67 points (26g, 41a) along with 62 penalty minutes. He helped the Bulldogs to a conference regular season championship in 2013-14, a conference tournament championship in 2016 and NCAA tournament appearances in 2014 and 2016. Robertson tied for the Bulldogs' team lead in scoring, and led the team in assists, for the 2014-15 season with a career-best 23 points (6g, 17a).

Away from the ice, Robertson was named to the Western Collegiate Hockey Association All-Academic Team in 2015 and 2016.
