
Four Added to Gladiators Roster

DULUTH, Ga. - The Atlanta Gladiators announced Friday that the AHL's Providence Bruins have returned forward Brock Higgs from loan while the Boston Bruins have reassigned goalie Dan Vladar from Providence to Atlanta. In addition, the Gladiators have signed forwards Johnny Daniels and Austin McKay from the SPHL to standard professional contracts.
Higgs returns to the Gladiators after appearing in two games for Providence, Atlanta's AHL affiliate, this past weekend. The Kingston, ON native currently leads the Gladiators in assists, and is second overall in the ECHL with 22 His 27 points with Atlanta in 16-17 is good for second on the Gladiators and sixth most in the league.
In his six game stint with the P-Bruins, the 19-year old Vladar compiled a 3-0-2 record, with an impressive goals-against average of 2.84 and .914 save percentage. The Czech Republic native made two starts for the Gladiators in his previous trip to Atlanta going 1-0-0-1 while giving up six goals on 66 shots.
Daniels, 23, has registered 15 points in 17 games in the SPHL this year. The second year pro attended training camp with the Gladiators prior to the start of the season and notched three points in two preseason games, tying for the team lead. All three points came via a hat trick against the Norfolk Admirals on October 6th in a 7-4 Gladiators victory. A stand-out for the NCAA division III's Saint Anselm College, Daniels collected 85 points in 91 career collegiate games.
McKay, 25, joins the Gladiators from the Pensacola Ice Flyers of the SPHL where the 6-foot-5, 220-pound forward has collected nine points in 14 games. McKay was originally acquired by Atlanta from Brampton earlier this year, finalizing a future considerations trade from the 15-16 season. The former Captain at Lake Superior State University amassed 13 points in 103 games played for the Lakers over the course of a four year campaign.
