WHERE WE STAND The Monarchs (30 pts.) enter tonight's game with Norfolk alone at the top the North Division, one point clear of the Adirondack Thunder. The Monarchs sit second in the Eastern Conference, trailing only the Florida Everblades (31) for the top spot in the East.
BIG SHOT
Rihards Bukarts currently leads all rookies in shooting percentage at 33.3%, which is also good for the second best percentage in the league, behind only Austin Block of the Orlando Solar Bears (35.7%). Bukarts has six goals on 18 shots and has scored five goals in his last three games played.
MIDDLE FRAME MONARCHS
Manchester continues to dominate in second-period play this season, as they are outscoring their opponents by 12 goals in the second and have scored a league-high 40 goals in the middle frame, six more than the Everblades who rank second in the ECHL. Norfolk enters tonight's game with 12 second period goals, the second fewest in the league.
SEARCHING FOR A LEAD
Norfolk comes into Friday's game having held the lead heading into the third period once this season. The Admirals are the only team in the league yet to win a game when leading after two periods, with a 0-0-1-0 record. The Monarchs are 12-0-1-0 when leading after two periods this season.
SPECIAL TEAM (MISS)MATCH
Norfolk comes into the game converting on only 5% of their power plays this season, the lowest conversion rate in the ECHL, scoring only three goals with the man-advantage this season. Manchester's penalty kill comes in with an 89.7% success rate, good for 3rd in the league, having allowed only nine power-play goals this season.
BOTTOM OF THE BARREL
The Admirals rank last in the league in scoring average at 1.95 per game, and are the only team in the league averaging fewer than two goals per game. Norfolk also ranks 24th in the league in goals against, allowing 3.62 goals per game.
POINT OF NO RETURN
