
Thunder Blanked in First Meeting vs. Allen

Wichita, KS- Riley Gill stopped 45 shots to help Allen claim a 3-0 victory over Wichita on Friday Night at INTRUST Bank Arena.
The Thunder had a wide shot advantage through 40 minutes, including 27 in the second. The Allen netminder stood tall to claim his third shutout of the season.
Dyson Stevenson got things started with just over five minutes left in the first. He re-directed a shot from David Makowski to make it 1-0 in favor of the visitors.
In the second, Chad Costello recorded his ninth of the year at 8:40 to push the Allen lead to 2-0. Wichita had three power play chances in the last 10 minutes of the frame, but couldn't break through.
Greger Hanson tacked on his 11th of the year at 9:15 of the third during a four-on-four situation. He stole the puck at the red line, skated down on a breakaway and put a backhand past Drew Owsley to make it 3-0. The Thunder had two great chances that were stopped by Gill and Allen skated away with the win.
Wichita ties a season-high in shots in a game and a new season-high with 27 shots in a period. The Thunder's all-time high for shots in a period is 28, set back in 1993 against Memphis. Owsley suffers the loss, stopping 26 of 29 shots. Gill claims the win, stopping all 45 shots he faced.
Wichita went 0-for-7 on the power play. Allen was 0-for-4 on the man advantage.
The Thunder remains at home tomorrow night with another meeting against the Americans at 7:05 p.m.
