Manchester Monarchs News Release
Manchester, NH - WGIR has joined forces with the Verizon Wireless Arena and the Monarchs Care Foundation to help save lives. On Tuesday, January 10th from 12:00PM to 6:00PM you can help eliminate the shortages by visiting the Verizon Wireless Arena and donating at the 4th Annual Verizon Wireless Arena and Monarchs Care Foundation American Red Cross Blood Drive. All blood types are urgently needed.
The traditional post-holiday shortages have been compounded by many devastating storms throughout the country this past fall. These factors have resulted in serious shortages in the blood supply over the past several weeks. Inventories of several blood types are at a one-day supply.
This special event blood drive, sponsored by the Verizon Wireless Arena, Monarchs Care Foundation and WGIR could provide some 300-transfusion products to hospital patients who need blood transfusions to save their lives or preserve their health.
Thanks to WGIR and the NH Lottery the first 101 donors will receive a $1 scratch lottery ticket. Donors will also receive one of the following; an official Manchester Monarchs hockey puck, one complimentary voucher to U.S Hot Rod Thunder Nationals or one complimentary voucher to Disney On Ice presents Disney/Pixar's Monsters, Inc., both playing the Verizon Wireless Arena.
If the donor items weren't enough to entice you to come out and donate the vocals of Josh Logan should be. A fresh and innovative style is the core of Josh's music. For more information on Josh Logan visit joshlogan.com.
Donors may park in the VIP parking lot at the rear of the Verizon Wireless Arena free of charge. The arena's concessionaire, Aramark, will provide snacks for all donors.
For more information on donating blood, please call 1-800-GIVE LIFE.
