Friday, Lock Monsters 9 vs. Norfolk 2
Lowell received two goals each from Krys Kolanos, David Gove, Keith Aucoin and Vince Bellissimo en route to a team record nine goals in the win. Vitaly Kolesnik stopped 33 shots for his 11th win of the season. Kolanos ended up with four points on the night.
Saturday, Norfolk 6 vs. Lock Monsters 1
The Admirals bounced back the next night to earn a split of the two-game set with a 6-1 win over Lowell. Mike Zigomanis scored the only Lowell goal as Norfolk spoiled the AHL debut of G Craig Kowalski, pounding him with 53 shots in the game. The Admirals scored twice in each period.
Sunday, Philadelphia 4 vs. Lock Monsters 2
Matt Ellison scored twice on the power play and once shorthanded to lead the Phantoms to a 4-2 win over the Monsters on Sunday evening. Mike Zigomanis scored for the second straight game and Keith Aucoin added a power play tally for Lowell.
Monsters Memos
- Lowell's nine goals on Friday established a new team record, breaking the total of eight that was accomplished twice in team history. The Monsters have scored seven or more goals on three separate occasions this season.
- Center Brad Richardson missed both Saturday and Sunday's games as he was recalled to NHL Colorado for the second time this season. Richardson is fourth on the Lock Monsters with 17 points in 29 games.
- Goalie Craig Kowalski faced a team season-high 53 shots in his AHL debut Saturday night. He made 47 saves in suffering the 6-1 setback.
- Defenseman P.J. Martin returned to the lineup on Saturday from an upper body injury that sidelined him for six games.
- Rookie LW Cody McLeod made his presence felt in his first AHL action, which came this weekend for Lowell. He was assessed 26 minutes in penalties during the three games, including a game misconduct and two majors.
- The Monsters covered 1,168 miles on their weekend road trip to Norfolk and Philadelphia, passing through eight states in the process.

Coming Up:
The Monsters travel to Manchester on Friday for a 7:35 p.m. match and return home to face the Providence Bruins on Saturday, January 14th, also at 7:35 p.m. The first 2,500 fans will get a Lock Monsters winter cap, courtesy of TD Banknorth. It's also Locks of Love night, and Fantastic Sam's will be on hand trimming hair and collecting donations for Locks of Love - a non-profit organization that provides hairpieces to financially disadvantaged children suffering from long-term medical hair loss.
On Sunday, the Bridgeport Sound Tigers come to town for a 4:05 p.m. match. Sunday games always feature the Family Four Packs - get four tickets, four scrumptious hot dogs and four refreshing sodas for just $49. Sundays are also Louie's Little Monsters Kid's Club games, providing complimentary admission for all member of the kid's club. There is a post-game skate on the Tsongas Arena ice after the game as well. Anyone in attendance at the game on Sunday gets in for free, with complimentary skate rental available.

CCM/Vector AHL Player of the Week Nomination
C Krystofer Kolanos
Kolanos notched his first points as a Lock Monster over the weekend, scoring at least a point in all three contests. He led the way in Friday's team record nine-goal outburst with two goals and four points, and followed that up with a pair of assists over the remaining two games of the weekend. He had a hand in six of the team's 12 goals over the three-in-three road trip.
